Good online impression vital, says Zanox
Zanox has revealed the importance of making a good impression online.
Research has revealed that consumers who research goods and services online before making purchase decisions, are better informed and more likely to talk with others and give recommendations about products compared with people who do no research online at all.
A survey by BigResearch found that 47 per cent of consumers who research products on the internet prior to purchase in a physical shop talk about pros and cons with friends.
The corresponding figure is only 29.4 percent among those who have not done their 'homework' on the web prior to purchase.
Frederic Saigne, online marketing expert at Zanox, said: 'Even if a clothing brand or a digital equipment manufacturer has primarily chosen to sell through physical shops it is still important to make a good impression online.
Saigne added that to make a good impression on the web implies both positive publicity on blogs and online news media and a well-designed and informative company website, which is optimised for search engines.
This makes it easier for critical consumers to find information about the desired products and services.
He said: 'Using the internet has become such an integrated part of our daily behaviour, that you simply cannot neglect the importance of it, not least because keen internet users have shown to be very talkative and thereby influence other consumers.
