Publishers avoid post strike chaos with digital
Publishers can side step the anticipated disruption caused by the postal strikes planned for October by publishing and distributing their titles using online digital editions from YUDU Media.
The supplement will be produced monthly in both hard copy, distributed through newspapers, and in digital format.
It covers a cross-section of issues from Russia, such as the development of the country's high-tech industry, its history and infrastructure, and emerging industries such as cinema.
Eugene Abov, Editor and Publisher of 'Russia - Beyond the Headlines', Deputy CEO of Rossiyaskaya Gazeta and Vice-President of the Russia's periodical press publishers association (GIPP), said: "We want to offer an insight into the real Russia - not just the Russia that we read in the headlines.
"Digital editions provide a great opportunity to reach a wider audience who may wish to access special reports digitally, rather than just through the paper.
"We can also include rich media in the way that we can't in a hard copy".
He added: "The Telegraph audience is one of the most demanding and advanced as far as the use of new media is concerned and we hope to produce more of these supplements digitally".
Richard Stephenson, Chairman, YUDU Media, commented: "This is a great way for Russia to reach out to audiences across borders; using supplements like this, and particularly in digital, engages with people to encourage understanding of a country beyond what we normally read in the papers.".
