Milton Keynes Wedding Show a smash hit
Wyboston Lakes was delighted when a record 1,000 brides-to-be attended the recent three-day wedding show held at the Middleton Hall in Milton Keynes.
Many of the visitors were in the early stages of planning their wedding and were able to meet a plethora of professionals in the wedding industry, including dress designers, cake makers and even one enterprising company that provided white doves to signify the completion of the wedding ceremony Senior Wedding Co-ordinator Laura Footner soon discovered that wedding budgets were increasing, mainly due to the fact that many brides were expecting a higher number of acceptances from family and friends from overseas

Wyboston adds online booking facility
Wyboston Lakes, on the border of Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, has introduced online accommodation booking for business and leisure travellers.
"Some of the brides had guests travelling from Germany, France and even America and one of their main reasons for visiting the show was to find a venue that was large enough to accommodate all their guests in one place", said Footner.
"The Willows, our exclusive use wedding venue at Wyboston Lakes, proved extremely popular with its 150 double, en-suite, secure ground-floor bedrooms.
"This makes it an ideal location for both able and disabled guests.
"Brides also loved the idea that their guests could stay together for the entire wedding weekend without having to travel.
"An added bonus was our on-site leisure facilities including a golf course and health and fitness centre.
"Our stand featured a range of table settings, colour themes and activities, demonstrating the flexibility of our wedding packages, which are designed to satisfy the most demanding wedding plan".
Fergus Martin, Executive Head Chef at Wyboston Lakes, was also on hand to discuss the all-important wedding breakfast and reception options.
During the three days, visitors to the stand entered a prize draw for a meal for two, together with a bottle of Champagne, at the award-winning Waterfront Brasserie at Wyboston Lakes.
The winner was Yvonne Attfield from London.
Footner concluded: "The benchmark of success for any exhibition must be the increase in public awareness of the venue and an increase in enquiries.
"Apart from taking several bookings at the show, the telephone has been extremely busy with couples anxious to book a personal visit to Wyboston Lakes, so as far as we are concerned, the Wedding Show was a smash hit".
