141 Worldwide/London helps Dogs Trust
141 Worldwide/London has created a heart-warming direct mail campaign, aimed at helping Dogs Trust ensure that dogs in their twilight years get the love and care they deserve in a home environment.
The mailer will be sent out in mid-July and targets existing supporters of Dogs Trust.
The campaign aims to encourage Dogs Trust supporters to not only continue their support, but to give a little bit more.
Most of these existing supporters are aware of Dogs Trust's 17 re-homing centres; however, what many may not know is that Dogs Trust also has a special "Old Dogs Home" called Oakfield near their Roden centre, designed especially for senior dogs that need that extra bit of TLC and often specialist medical attention in their twilight years.
After the trauma of losing both their families and homes, some older dogs find it hard to adjust to a kennel environment.
The Oakfield Old Dogs Home provides such dogs with a unique 'real life' environment, where they are free to roam around when and where they please and are provided all the comforts and care they need and deserve in their old age.
There are no kennels in the house and the dogs even have their own 'doggy lounge' with chairs, comfy sofas and bean bags.
141's campaign focuses on the canine residents of the Oakfield Old Dogs Home.
The pack includes a letter from one of the carers, Tracey Casewell, and tells the story of Flossy, an adorable 9-year-old who was brought to Dogs Trust as a result of the trauma she experienced when her owners split up and she lost her home.
The letter features one picture of Flossy looking alert and happy and another of her being cuddled by Tracey.
The front of the main leaflet shows Tracey and Flossy sitting at the entrance to the Oakfield home with the words, "With your help, the doors of Oakfield will always be open".
The leaflet unfolds to reveal a picture of Tracey surrounded by Flossy and the other 'Oakfield Oldies': 10-year-old Rosie, whose owner suddenly died; 7-year-old Nacho, who suffers from arthritis; and 12-year-old Megan, who's deaf and also suffers from bad eyesight.
The mailer outer shows Flossy sitting happily by the entrance to the Oakfield home, together with the words, "Like many older dogs, Flossy was shown the door".
"Luckily it was ours".
Phil White, 141 Worldwide business director, said: "We wanted to use this campaign to show existing Dogs Trust supporters how their donations help maintain homes like Oakfield and provide older dogs with the special care, love and attention that they deserve.
"Their support helps Dogs Trust make sure that no healthy dog - even an older one - is put down".
