Vale Resort wins coveted award for best Welsh spa

The Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Hensol has been named Wales's best spa resort at the influential worldwide travel awards ceremony, the World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards are voted for by more than 150,000 frontline agents and 80,000 travel agents worldwide through an online voting system and is recognised as one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the tourism industry.

The Vale Resort collected its award at an exotic ceremony in Turks and Caicos alongside some of the travel industry's most famous brands.

The Vale Resort demonstrated its commitment to providing top-class spa facilities earlier this year with a refurbishment of the spa to include newly restyled treatment suites, a refurbished relaxation lounge and the appointment of a new spa manager from the world famous Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden.

Stephen Leeke, managing director at the Vale Resort, said: "It is a real honour to receive this award, especially as the standards in Welsh spas are so high at the moment.

"We have invested a lot in the spa over the last year and are pleased to see that our efforts have paid off.
