VA rebrands to encompass wider market

A The UK Gift Card and Voucher Association product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Jan 21, 2009

The VA, the trade body representing the UK's gift card, gift voucher and prepaid card market, has rebranded as the UK Gift Card and Voucher Association (UKGCVA).

The body will now incorporate all aspects of the UK's prepaid gift market.

The UKGCVA will continue to work to promote the use of vouchers and gift cards to businesses and consumers as well as provide an exclusive forum for networking, training, events, best practices, information and education for all members.

It also represents the interests and policies of the association to the industry and to outside groups such as government bodies and other trade associations.

Andrew Johnson, director-general of the UKGCVA, said: 'Membership of the association has expanded over the last few years in line with the diversity of organisations that now operate and service this industry.

'The growth of contactless, digital and online payments, for example, together with the increased use of gift cards in the consumer market and the continued widespread usage of paper vouchers as corporate incentive rewards, means that our trade association now represents a far broader industry.

'We hope that the new branding is viewed as encompassing the wider aspects of this expanding market.
