Retail expert to speak at Va conference
Tim Danaher, editor of Retail Week, will provide inspiring insight into the retail sector when he speaks at the fifth annual Va Conference on 22 April in London.
Tim Danaher is to speak at the fifth annual Va Conference, sponsored by 3V Transaction Services, taking place on Tuesday 22 April 2008 at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London.
He will present a seminar entitled 'The Retail Landscape', discussing the highs and lows of the retail industry, the shape of retail today and also share his predictions for the future.
Tim Danaher has been editor of Retail Week, the leading news magazine for UK retailers, since January 2005.
A business journalist for ten years, he appears regularly on television and radio as a commentator on the retail industry.
In 2007, the Evening Standard named him as one of the 100 most influential people in retail.
Danaher commented: "Vouchers and gift cards play an important function in the retail industry, helping to solidify customer loyalty, leverage branding and improve the overall shopping experience.
"As the retail industry continues to diversify, so too does the variety of voucher and gift card applications that are available to retailers".
The Va Conference will share best practice ideas, discuss issues of mutual concern and allow delegates to learn about developments and innovations that can help grow and develop the incentive and consumer market, which is worth over GBP3.2 billion in the UK alone.
This unmissable industry event is suitable for everyone who has an interest in vouchers, gift cards and stored value solutions.
Andrew Johnson, director general of the Va, commented: "The retail sector has always been a key part of the voucher and gift card industry.
"Danaher will be sharing valuable, important expertise at this year's conference and 'The Retail Landscape' presentation will no doubt provide a great deal of food for thought for all delegates".
Other speakers will include representatives from John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Pizza Express, Starbucks, Lastminute.com, Ticketmaster, IDT Finance and Coinstar.
Adding an international perspective will be Marilyn Bochicchio, President of Paybefore and former President of NBPCA, USA (The Network Branded Prepaid Card Association).
The Va was established as a trade body in 1996 to represent the key players in the GBP3bn corporate gift vouchers, cards and stored value solutions market.
It provides an information and reference point for both voucher and gift card suppliers and customers, and is at the forefront of the issues affecting the industry.
Its main objective is to raise the profile and use of vouchers and gift cards in the UK, promoting the industry to consumers, businesses, government and other interested parties.
