Valassis launches coupon campaign for Thorntons

Valassis has announced that it has been appointed by Thorntons to launch a nationwide coupon campaign to consumers, supported by a range of grocery and convenience stores across the country.

Working in conjunction with Valassis, Thorntons's main objective is to drive awareness of its 'Moments' twist-wrap brand.

Eve Roberts, customer marketing manager at Thorntons, said: 'We have participated in previous coupon campaigns, however this is the first time that Thorntons has issued coupons for redemption via grocery and convenience stores.

'Promotions in our Thorntons stores have previously been handled directly via our own store operations and head office personnel.

Thorntons has signed a Manufacturer Redemption Service agreement with Valassis, which in turn provides the company with a service package which includes design, implementation, processing and data capture.

This ensures all stages of the coupon campaign are delivered to gain maximum return on investment.

Due to the initial success of the first large scale coupon campaign Thorntons is looking to repeat the promotion in the future.
