Utarget Media adds exclusive video content

An Utarget Networks product story
Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Jan 7, 2008

Expanding online publisher Utarget Media has announced the launch of new video player content across its portfolio of websites.

Video news, as well as expert guides, interviews and features are now available on the following Utarget Media websites: travelconnect.co.uk, financedaily.co.uk, keepthedoctoraway.co.uk and urbanplanet.co.uk.

The new video sections on each of the websites include hundreds of short video clips, on everything from Lonely Planet travel guides (travelconnect.co.uk), music videos and interviews (UrbanPlanet.co.uk), health news and diet tips (Keepthedoctoraway.co.uk) and breaking business news stories (FinanceDaily.co.uk).

The high-quality video footage is professionally made, and clips average from between three and four minutes in length.

Utarget Media also predicts that the launch of the video players opens up new opportunities for advertisers with the publisher too, as prior to watching video clips, users will be served a short 10-20 second pre-roll advertisement relevant to that video.

Commenting on the launch of the video players, Phil Cooper, CEO of Utarget, said: "We are demonstrating our innovation as a company by not only offering users relevant video content to their interests, but we are also offering advertisers the opportunity to reach this demographic via targeted campaigns.

"What pre-roll video advertising means is that we can now provide greater opportunities to advertisers who are keen to increase brand awareness online.

"This opens up TV budgets to online, as is already being pushed by our other business Utarget Networks, the UK's largest video ad network.

"We are very excited about the opportunities available to integrate content and advertising in this way, and in creating synergy between the media owning side of our company and our thriving video-ad network.

"We predict that this is something that is bound to become more common throughout 2008, which will lead to our continued success".
