The University of Bedfordshire has announced accredited courses in the areas of sales and marketing and project management.

The university has teamed up with the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) to offer the flexible, part-time courses that include Advanced Sales and Marketing at level three and Operational Sales and Marketing Management at level four.

Delegates can choose Account Management or Sales Management at level five.

There is also an option to study both areas at level five.

The ISMM programmes are short courses designed to help people study alongside work.

Self-study and online support is also provided.

Delegates will complete assessments based on everyday sales situations without having to sit timed examinations.

The level five course commences on 25 November, followed by the level three course on 11 February 2009.

The University of Bedfordshire has also announced an Introductory Certificate in project management.

The two-day, APM accredited course is designed for those who are starting a career in the field or who want to understand the principles of project management excellence.

Project management courses can assist businesses across all sectors and industries, to help manage their business, speed up innovation and effectively manage change.

Successful completion of the Introductory Certificate will leave candidates well equipped to progress onto the Prince2 project management programme.

The range of subjects covered by the course ensures that participants are given a thorough introduction to project management.

Subjects covered include: the principles of project management planning and scheduling; communications; quality management; teamwork; resource management; risk management; handover and review.

Accreditation is subject to completion of a one-hour, multiple-choice examination consisting of 60 questions.

The course will be held on 10 and 11 November at the University's Putteridge Bury Conference Centre.

Delegates do not require prior knowledge or experience in project management in order to enrol.

The Introductory Certificate in project management is available at a course fee of GBP795 plus VAT and includes all materials, examinations fees, refreshments, lunch and parking.

The courses are offered through the university's business arm, the Knowledge Hub, and will provide students the flexibility of studying for an award, certificate or diploma at their chosen level.
