Twentysix London is to create a customer-focused, cutting-edge website for the UK Hydrographic Office, the MoD organisation that has charted the world's oceans for over 200 years.

Twentysix London, which has already created ground-breaking sites for The Royal Navy and The Royal Marines, will deliver vastly improved functionality and smarter customer journeys through the UKHO's website from this spring in line with the historic organisation's move into a new digital era.

The new site is part of an ongoing programme of investment for UKHO, aimed at making it more focused towards a digital future.

The overhaul of the site architecture is based on evidence gathered through market research and web stats and will offer UKHO's users a dynamic experience and a more direct route to fulfilling their needs, including improved access to the latest safety critical navigation information.

Ian Anderson, Business Development and Corporate Director of twentysix London, said: "The new site will present the organisation's information and services in a user-centric way making the best of state-of-the-art technology and the gathered intelligence on what its diverse customers want from it".

Don Leslie, UKHO Marketing Manager, said: "UKHO has been at the forefront of technological change and innovation for more than two centuries.

"The new website marks another milestone in that history, providing improved accessibility to the latest navigationally significant information.

"This is the start of web development for the UKHO and the international maritime community can expect to see some exciting changes over the next 12 months".

The site will go live in April.
