Twentysix creates submersive view of Navy life

A Twentysix (London and Leeds) product story
Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Jul 18, 2007

Visitors to the Royal Navy website can now gain a deeper understanding of life on board a submarine through an interactive experience created by digital communications agency twentysix London.

The demonstrations of submarine life are the latest addition to the content-rich Royal Navy Recruitment site, which twentysix London delivered earlier this year, featuring real-life video diaries, picture galleries and other 'next generation' technologies.

The design and interactive functionality make it one of the most advanced recruitment sites in the UK.

The latest development gives a periscope view of life on board a submarine and includes short below-decks interviews with submarine crew who talk about their life on board and onshore, as well as details of weapon capabilities and submarine propulsion.

"The new submarine content brings a realism to the site and adds an engaging human dimension to Royal Navy recruitment; it allows visitors to see and hear what life aboard a submarine is really like," said Paul Coffey, twentysix London client services director.

"It's a fantastic resource for educators and for individuals who want to know more about the capabilities of the Royal Navy.

"It's a high-quality and engaging addition to an already expansive website that communicates the Royal Navy's "Life without Limits" proposition to the client's recruitment target audience and shows that the service is as much about its people as its technology and equipment".

Twentysix London won the COI-managed account in September 2006 via a competitive pitch and developed the core recruitment site in record speed in time for its January 2007 launch.
