Top public relations consultancy Trimedia has been appointed by Dorset HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust to handle its internal and external communications.

The specialist trust - which provides mental health, learning disability, addictions, community brain injury and community dental services for the majority of Dorset - selected the agency after a competitive pitch process last year The win coincides with Trimedia's move into spacious new offices in Carlton Crescent, Southampton

Executive director Caroline Searle explained: "We are delighted to be working with the Trust, particularly at this time of growth and exciting change for the Southampton team.

"Since our appointment, we have already had a great insight into the wide variety of specialist services they provide - helping both adults and children with conditions ranging from depression, dementia and psychosis, to learning disabilities, eating disorders and addictions.

"In addition to raising awareness of these, there is also an important job for us to do in terms of growing the membership of the Trust, since it was awarded foundation status last year".

Chief Executive of the Trust, Roger Browing, added: "Trimedia stood out as they not only possessed local knowledge but also offered a real understanding of the health care sector".

Trimedia - formerly known as Trimedia Harrison Cowley - is a national public relations consultancy with offices across the UK, including Southampton, Bristol, London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester.

The consultancy offers regional, national and sector specialisms to its clients which include McDonald's, Ordnance Survey, BDO Stoy Hayward and Age Concern.
