Mobile Retailing Conference illuminates industry
As the first dedicated event to showcase and inform industry about retailing through mobile, the Mobile Retailing Conference will play host to leading experts in mobile and internet-on-the-move.
The mobile internet will be the next major advertising platform according to Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
According to Schmidt, the iPhone is leading the way, enabling advertising to become very personal and he expects that over the next few years, mobile advertising will generate more revenue than advertising on today's web.
The Mobile Retailing Conference will play host to leading experts in mobile and internet-on-the-move, who will show, complete with current case studies, how the mobile channel will have an influence on the industry's marketing and transactional strategies.
The one-day conference, organised by Retail Events, will take place at the Cavendish Centre in London on 11 June.
Ten leading experts in the field of mobile and retail will make presentations including: Michael Tomlins, Commercial Director, Infomedia Services, who will highlight what it takes for a retailer to get to grips with the mobile platform citing Tesco, which has over 250,000 unique visitors per month to its mobile portal; Mark Cody, Channel Business Manager - Interactive, at Telefonica O2 UK, who will show retailers how mobile fits into current retail channels and how developments such as Near Field Communications (NFC) will impact on retailers and the way they interact with their customers; and a panel session featuring particpants including Mark Bamber, MTV and Director of Digital Viacom Brand Solutions International, and Aaron Rattue, Global Research at GfK.
Commenting on the event, organiser Paul Bessant said: "Mobile retailing is undoubtedly one of the most important channels to market, offering brands and retailers personal access to their customers for the first time ever.
"With examples such as Jaguar's recent mobile advertising campaign in the US, which delivered over 15 million ad impressions across the mobile internet, bringing over 85,000 unique visitors to the mobile site, this conference is one not to be missed if retailers want to be ahead of the game".
The show is in association with mobile media company Mobvision and its mobile advertising solution Admoda.
