Travel networking site offers hotel feedback

A trivago GmbH product story
Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Mar 6, 2008

European travel and social networking site trivago.com has launched 'trivago hotelier', where hoteliers can respond to reviews of their businesses by trivago's large pan-European community.

International travel website trivago.com has launched a new cost-free service for hoteliers: trivago hotelier is a platform where hoteliers can now provide real-time updated information about their establishments.

Trivago has a 45,000-strong Europe-wide community, which spends an average of 20,000 hours a month creating travel reports, guides, tips and reviews.

Using trivago hotelier, hoteliers can now respond directly onsite to these reviews, publish new offers and news in their hotel blog and can manage their data.

Furthermore trivago enables users to link to hotels' homepages: thus guests can directly contact the hotel for additional information and to arrange bookings.

A lot of hoteliers have already registered since the launch of the new service.

Bettina Rubick, Manager E-Commerce at Choice Hotels Europe, said about trivago hotelier: "The management of Choice Hotels Germany and Central Europe are enthusiastic about the new service and the possibilities to attract new customers and get into direct contact with them.

"Trivago hotelier offers a powerful new tool to increase bookings, and the hotelier can also benefit from having exposure to the 2.5 million monthly vistors to trivago's pan-European sites".

Trivago, the European internet media business based in Dusseldorf, Germany, was founded in April 2005.

It operates one of the largest user-driven travel portals in Europe, issuing high-quality travel information and 'insider' tips for perfect travel planning.

It combines its social networking platform's travel tips and reviews, with price search and comparison for hotels and package holidays.

This allows users to find and book great deals with the benefit of other travellers' experiences and advice.

Therefore, trivago is the internet starting point for many price-conscious travel enthusiasts across Europe.

As well as in the United Kingdom, trivago has sites in Germany, Spain, France, Sweden, Poland and Italy.

In the fourth quarter of 2007, trivago attracted more than 2.5 million visitors per month throughout Europe taking advantage of trivago's community tips and its price search function.
