Michael H Thomas, an online travel entrepreneur and investor since 1995, has made an investment in the company of up to $1.2 million to fund further growth.

Michael H Thomas also becomes Chairman of the Board, which includes TAN CEO Cree Lawson and new Board member Brian Silver.

This is first time that TAN has raised outside funds since it launched in 2003.

Thomas said: "The Travel Ad Network has achieved extraordinary traction - in the past 12 months, the number of sites in TAN grew from 30 to 50 delivering a monthly audience of more than 8 million unique visitors.

"At some point this year it will surpass Yahoo Travel as the web's largest travel planning audience online; at present they are in the top 10 travel audiences online and the second largest travel planning audience online".

"TAN has been successful enough to operate from its cash flow and we have been able to reserve outside investments for staff and infrastructure growth," said Lawson.

"We are very pleased to have Michael join our Board and always welcome his ideas and direction".
