Travel Ad Network to sell online ads for
Skybus
Travel Ad Network, the US travel vertical ad network, has become the exclusive sales representative for advertising inventory on Skybus.com, the website of low-fare airline Skybus.
Skybus, which began service last month, offers nonstop service from its Columbus (OH) base to eight US markets, and offers at least 10 seats for $10 on every flight, every day Skybus becomes the first US-based domestic airline to take outside advertising on its website which is used to transact reservations, ticketing and other travel-related bookings
Travel Ad Network will offer advertisers an opportunity to reach in-market travelers with display advertising, integrated offerings built into destination content as well as confirmation pages and emails which offers powerful opportunities for tourism boards and local attractions to help consumers plan what to do on arrival.
The site's audience is rapidly growing.
In April it served more than 11 million page views to over 500,000 unique visitors (comScore) even though the airline didn't begin to operate until May.
In the first three weeks after launch, Skybus sold more than 250,000 tickets.
"We are very excited to be the rep for the first time a US airline website has been available to online advertisers and the Skybus inventory will really help TAN round out its offering to non-endemic advertisers," said Cree Lawson, Founder and CEO of TAN.
"Skybus offers travelers a unique value and we expect to see its site traffic soar as it quickly expands to additional cities.
"It is no secret that vacation and business travelers are a highly sought after audience.
"This is a rare opportunity for advertisers to reach travel shoppers while they are in a purchasing mindset directly on the Skybus site".
"Our passengers can buy airline tickets for less than the cost of a tank of gas," said Chase Cunningham, Director, Ancillary Sales.
"Skybus will generate additional revenue by selling advertising space inside and outside our planes and charging for priority seating and checking bags.
"A very large part of our revenue plan is advertising income from our website - we are pleased to have the nation's leading travel ad network to help us make that happen.
"The Travel Ad Network provides a depth of knowledge about the travel industry and a level of customer service that is unmatched anywhere in the online world".
