A The Manor House product story
Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Nov 8, 2007

The Manor House Conference Centre and Hotel in Godalming, Surrey, has been named winner of the Business Tourism ExSEllence Award 2007 for the second year running.

Tourism South East's Tourism ExSEllence Awards showcase quality, excellence and innovation across the industry.

The Manor House won the Business Tourism award in 2006 and, when naming it as the winning business this year, the judges particularly praised the continued investment and ongoing commitment to delivering excellent services which The Manor House has demonstrated during 2007.

Adding to this year's success, The Manor House's Conference and Event Diary Manager, Jackie Bulmer, was also Highly Commended in the extremely competitive Outstanding Customer Service category.

This award is open to any individual working within the tourism and leisure industry in the region and Jackie's impressive dedication to customer service saw her beat off stiff competition to achieve recognition.

Howard Canning, Centre Manager at The Manor House, commented: "We are thrilled to receive the Business Tourism ExSEllence Award for the second year running.

"The judges recognised that we hadn't rested on our laurels since winning last year but had introduced further improvements and new ideas to ensure we keep delivering a fantastic venue and service for both our corporate and leisure customers.

"I'm also delighted that Jackie's dedication to customer service was recognised by Tourism South East.

"She is a vital member of the team and her professional, friendly approach is often commented on; it makes all the difference and is part of The Manor House's personal style which is so popular with our customers." The Tourism South East ExSEllence Awards 2007 were presented on 23 October at Wentworth.

The categories for these prestigious awards attract entries from a wide variety of businesses such as major tourist attractions, small hotels, business venues and individual employees, who are singled out for their particular achievements.

In all categories judges look for dedication to excellence, investment in staff development and commitment to accessibility and sustainability.

Within the Business Tourism category, the quality of facilities, high customer care standards and differentiation from competitors are also considered across the wide range of businesses eligible to enter.

Winners from the South East will now go on to represent the region at the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.

The Manor House is an independently owned conference and training centre in Godalming, Surrey, where the traditions of hospitality, comfort and friendliness are blended with first-class facilities to produce a unique, professional business environment.

With ten flexible meeting rooms and 31 bedrooms, the venue is set in the beautiful Surrey Hills yet is within easy reach of the A3, M25, mainline stations and international airports.

Winner of the Business Tourism category in the Tourism South East ExSEllence Awards in 2006 and 2007, The Manor House is also a member of Conference Centres of Excellence and is Hospitality Assured for Meetings.
