Thomson Local in European move

A Thomson Directories product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Jun 5, 2008

Thomson Local is to offer businesses the opportunity to market themselves in 218 countries across Europe, after it signed a deal to become the exclusive UK agent and partner for Europages.com.

Europages is the leading business-to-business (B2B) directory on the continent, and although principally serving the European market, its online directory features over 900,000 businesses worldwide.

Gary Brown, Product and Marketing Director, Thomson Local, said: "The partnership is great news for companies that want to promote themselves in Europe.

"Thomson Local manages the entire process in one phone call; we provide free translations into 15 languages, and of course, we are UK based, meaning UK call rates and UK office hours".

He continued: "The Europages product has an impressive 1.1 million searches per month; this will complement the existing 275 million searches per month Thomson Local enjoys through ThomsonLocal.com and its partner network to give advertisers numerous opportunities to generate leads for their business".

Europages is a leading European B2B search engine that lists over 900,000 of the most dynamic import/export companies, covering all business sectors, in 35 countries.

The Europages website is currently available in 26 languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Finish, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovenian, Turkish, Greek, Russian, Norwegian, Romanian, Estonian, Czech, Lithuanian, Latvian, Bulgarian, traditional and simplified Chinese and Arabic.
