CIM event tackles marketing law and regulations
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has organised an event dedicated to the impact of the law and new regulations affecting advertising and marketing.
The event, organised by the Lincolnshire branch of the CIM, will take place on 21 April 2010 at the University of Lincolnshire in the university's Department of Media, Humanities and Technology.
Fiona Carter, partner at Browne Jacobson solicitors, who specialises in commercial regulation and is head of the advertising and marketing team, will give markers a whistle-stop tour of the current legal issues and developments that impact on the world of advertising and marketing, and ask whether compliance really matters.
The seminar will review a number of situations and also look at the world of new media and viral marketing compliance.
Mike Martin, director at Admar Support Services, will provide a summary of data protection law requirements and clarify the position with permission for traditional direct mail and e-mail campaigns.
