CIM endorses brand management conference
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has announced that it is endorsing the Public Sector Brand Management Conference on 8 December 2009 at the America Square Conference Centre in London.
David Thorp, director of research and professional development at the CIM, will chair the educational day.
Speaking ahead of the event, Thorp said: 'Brand management is now an essential skill for the public-sector marketer and no longer just the prerogative of the commercial world.
'Brand management clearly has a role to make in reinforcing the image and reputation of the public sector within local communities.
'The CIM firmly believes that well-informed and well-trained professional marketers have a positive contribution to make in the public sector.
The conference will examine how an effective branding campaign can support and promote corporate identity within the public-sector environment.
It will illustrate how to get a campaign implemented and make it work effectively with both partners and staff.
It will also show how brand management can manage a culture of change, keep the brand alive, promote it, and ensure that it keeps doing its job.
