CIM to present social media case study
Mark Stuart, head of research at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is to present a case study on integrating social media for targeted campaigns at an upcoming event.
The Developing Public-Sector Communications through Social Media Conference is set to take place on 15 September 2009 in central London.
The conference will explore how social media is being used by the public sector to engage local communities, and look at the issues surrounding protecting reputation online, how to use social media to access hard-to-reach groups, and how its impact can be monitored and evaluated.
Stuart said: 'Social media can have a significant role to play in engaging local communities but must be used with care.
'It's important to think through the implications and possible ramifications of your social media activity before you begin.
'Although this is a relatively new area for marketers in the public sector, it is already clear that the very best campaigns are integrated with other marketing activities and are regularly monitored to assess effectiveness.
