The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Isle of Man branch is continuing its programme of events focusing on the Isle of Man branding strategy with the 'Championing a Nation' event.

Championing a Nation, which is set for 17:30 on 21 May 2009 at the Hilton hotel, Douglas, will bring attendees up-to-date with the initiative's progress.

Guest speaker Alistair Audsley will discuss the progress the 'Freedom to Flourish' strategy has made since being introduced.

To date, Freedom to Flourish, which was introduced to enhance the Isle of Man's national identity at home and abroad, and its Champions Scheme has attracted 33 organisations representing more than 6,500 employees on the Isle of Man (25 per cent of the working population), each working together to deliver a brand strategy to help the island continue its success in the 21st century.

Examples of how the initiative has already made a difference will be presented to attendees, including the Digital Inclusion programme, delivered by Champions Scheme members, which has delivered IT training for the over 50s to more than 800 people, helping them develop new skills and find new roles in the workplace.
