CIM celebrates marketing history with lecture
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is to celebrate marketers past, present and future at an event on 24 November at the University of Teesside Business School in Middlesbrough.
Marketers and marketing students in the north east will come together for the first Ken Atkins memorial lecture, which will also celebrate CIM Durham Tees Valley's 60th anniversary and see three students receive Student of the Year awards for successfully completing their CIM qualifications.
The memorial lecture will commemorate the work of past chair, Ken Atkins, who had dreams of creating a professor of marketing for the region.
All proceeds from the evening will fund a CIM student bursary, which will enable more people to study with the CIM.
Prof Malcolm MacDonald will lead the event, which starts at 18:00, and will give advice on the reputation of marketing, application of academic tools and how to make marketing more accountable.
To attend, or for further information, interested parties should visit the CIM website.
