New framework and member for Euro

The European Marketing Confederation has launched its European Marketing Certifications and Qualifications (EMCQ) framework, the first pan-European umbrella framework for the profession.
The EMC board meeting in Stockholm also welcomed a new member: the Swiss Marketing Federation The EMC network now covers more than 250,000 marketing, sales and communication professionals across Europe - in 15 EMC member states

The EMCQ aligns with the latest EU recommendation "EQF-European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning", approved in September 2007 by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers.
Commenting on the EMCQ announcement, Carlos Manuel de Oliveira, Chairman of the EMC, said: "The EMCQ will be a must for the European marketing professional and offers a sound development path for responsible business management.
"This is a first for European marketing offering both a common and global auto-regulatory system for the profession and, above all, with a perfect time-to-market following the recent lifelong learning guidelines recently launched by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers.

Following the success of the 2007 edition of the Marketing Compass Survey the EMC board meeting also reasserted its strategy to include four main areas of activity: representation, information, networking and accreditation, and to support this will repeat its valuable research experience in 2009 with the Marketing Compass survey.
The survey is now recognised as being an excellent opportunity for the European marketers to express their opinions on and attitudes towards their profession and the performances of their companies throughout the EU.
The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) is the umbrella organisation for marketing, sales and communication associations in Europe.
Operating since the 1960s, the Brussels headquartered EMC was established in 1993.
EMC's membership now covers most of the Western European countries and is extending towards the Central and Eastern European countries.
EMC members are national and regional business and marketing associations and confederations from: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, with The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The network covers more than 250,000 marketing, sales and communication professionals across Europe.
