John Elkington, a world authority on issues of corporate responsibility and sustainability, is to be the keynote speaker at this year's South West Marketing Forum.

The South West Marketing Forum, which is organised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing, and this year is jointly sponsored by Business Link and the University of the West of England is recognised as a key event in the marketing calendar Hundreds of businesses throughout the region are expected to attend the forum, which is to be held on Thursday 3 April 2008 at the University of the West of England Business School, Bristol

The theme for this year's Marketing Forum is 'Sustaining a Successful Brand' and it addresses consumers' growing interest in issues of sustainability and diversity.

World authority on corporate responsibility and sustainable development, John Elkington, is to be the keynote speaker and will talk about how these issues are having an impact on brands operating in the marketplace today.

Through a range of workshops and talks delegates will also be able to discover how their companies can benefit from the opportunities which exist in this area.

Regional director of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Christine Boswell-Munday, said: "The South West Marketing Forum is always a not-to-be-missed event for industry practitioners and this year we are very pleased to welcome our prestigious keynote speaker John Elkington.

"Throughout the day delegates can choose between fifteen workshops and discussion groups which will focus on a range of topics from branding and climate change, branding and corporate social responsibility to building a visionary brand.
