Top national graduates get their rewards

This year's top Chartered Institute of Marketing postgraduate students will receive their prizes from the sponsoring organisations at this year's graduation in Birmingham.

This year's graduation is being held on 2 November at Symphony Hall, Birmingham National recognition and prizes are given for the top student in each of the Postgraduate Diploma modules and for the top national postgraduate student

This year's winners were as follows.

Top award for the best overall Professional Postgraduate Diploma student - sponsored by Worshipful Company of Marketors: Christopher Lucarelli of Ben Hoare Bell LLP.

Top Analysis and Evaluation student - sponsored by Mintel: Maria Hooper from Tour and Andersson.

Top Managing Marketing Performance student - sponsored by Marketing magazine: Laura Horncastle from Abbott.

Top Strategic Marketing Decisions student - sponsored by Reed Marketing Creative: Claire Savill of Allen Overy.

Top Strategic Marketing in Practice students - sponsored by The Economist, joint winners: William Grobel, Intangible Business, and Nicole Lorat, Advance Tapes International.

A national prize is also awarded for the top executive professional postgraduate student, aimed at senior managers and completed through intensive study at Moor Hall, The Institute's base in Berkshire.

This year the prize was won by Philip Andrew of Kalyx, and the award is sponsored by Worshipful Company of Marketors.

A further prize is made for the top Market Research and Information paper completed for the Professional Diploma.

There were joint winners of the Mintel-sponsored award: James Hall of Spinlock, and Ian Tabor, from Liffe.

Keith Fletcher, director of education at The Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: "The winners have demonstrated a very high standard in what is a very difficult qualification and I congratulate them for that.

"Marketing continues to be a key driver in business and all the students that graduated this year have shown that they recognise its importance to business strategy.

"Gaining this qualification is a testament that they are serious about their role and their career.".
