Founded in 1660, the Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK, dedicated to promoting excellence in science.

Many eminent scientists have been elected as Fellows of the Society including Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Dorothy Hodgkin and Stephen Hawking Based in the heart of London, overlooking the Mall and St James's Park, the Royal Society occupies 6-9 Carlton House Terrace

Designed by John Nash in 1827, it offers wonderful views over St James's Park and along to Buckingham Palace, and has the benefit of a large terrace from which guests can enjoy these spectacular sights.

This Grade 1 listed building has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme to provide first-class meeting and dining facilities, with state of the art audio-visual services including video conferencing and live internet broadcasting.

The immaculate interiors are as spectacular as the views, reflecting a richness of classical and contemporary styles.

The Society's unique collection of paintings, sculpture and archives are displayed throughout and cover almost 350 years of scientific achievement.

The Society's conference facilities comprise 12 flexible rooms with capacities ranging from 10 to 300 people.

These can be hired by organisers of events promoting science policy, technology, engineering, education and the public understanding of science.

The Society's catering team has designed a broad choice of carefully selected menus to suit a wide range of culinary tastes.

Fresh ingredients of the highest quality are prepared with flair and dedication and are presented in a simple yet elegant style.

At the Royal Society, we believe that clients should spend their time looking after their delegates and leave the operational details of the day to us.

From your initial call, we follow an extensive pre-event planning process to make your day as simple as possible and ensure your event is a success.
