SustainWorldComm announces Green Media Show
SustainWorldComm has announced that the Green Media Show, Conference and Expo will take place on 1-2 October 2008 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, Boston, MA.
The two-day event, focusing on all media communications for corporations and government agencies, will look at how companies can lower the carbon footprint of their advertising, websites, printed brochures and materials, e-mail campaigns and all internal and external communication.
The Green Media Show, Conference and Expo will focus on bottom-line solutions to address enterprise communication and sustainability, including: increased brand equity; growing shareholder value; business risk reduction; supply chain activity; sustainability reporting; carbon foot-printing and more.
The conference will offer executives' perspectives probing every aspect of sustainable communications from initiating a sustainability programme, best practices and implementation strategies, to sustainability reports.
It brings together thought leaders in sustainability with a focus on the graphic communication industry and marketing communications, their supply chains and relevant enterprise stakeholders.
The Green Media Show, Conference and Expo will be a low carbon neutral event, especially on the show floor where all exhibit structures will be provided to the exhibitors, developed from 100 per cent recycled and recyclable materials, reusable metal products and biodegradable bamboo for wall materials.
Kathleen Kaiser, executive vice-president at SustainWorldComm, said: 'We made a commitment from the start to utilise as many sustainable green resources as possible to reduce the entire carbon footprint of this event.
'We analysed every aspect - pre-show marketing, actual conference production, on-site materials and the actual show floor.' The entire expo floor was created locally using 100 per cent recyclable signs without lamination or adhesive, 100 per cent recyclable counter tops, and reusable metal framing with bamboo walls.
The on-site handout for the show will be limited to the Green Resource Guide, which is printed on FSI-certified recycled paper, using vegetable-based inks and high levels of carbon neutral printing.
Exhibitor handouts will also be limited.
All will be sent through e-mail directly to the attendee or shipped from the office to avoid excess printing and shipping costs and carbon waste.
Finally, all food functions will use high-quality local products when available.
There will be no plastic bottles, 100 per cent recycled paper cups will be used for hot and cold beverages, and there will be designated recycle containers for metal and paper.
