Online PR specialist Surf signs first
client
The UK's first specialist online PR agency for the travel and tourism industry, Surf Public Relations, has secured its first client, two weeks after the company's launch.
The Adventure Company, the small group adventure specialist, has signed with Surf to run an ongoing online campaign Surf PR's remit will include social media, 'noise' monitoring, distribution and generating inbound links

Surf PR's services are specifically designed to boost web presence, improve search engine optimisation, identify and build goodwill among online target audiences, monitor and manage online reputations within blogs and communities and ultimately, boost bookings both on and off-line.
The new business was born after director Rebecca Genin identified a lack of capability within traditional PR agencies: "UK leisure and unmanaged business travel sales online during 2008 will account for GBP12.5 billion according to eMarketeer.
"Even if they don't book online, consumers turn to the web to research their holidays.
"Online PR is becoming a vital element for maintaining a competitive edge within the travel industry.
"Surf's tailor-made approach means that travel companies can work with the company to fulfil very specific elements of an online PR campaign or use it to project-manage entire internet marketing strategies: this could range from creating and distributing optimised news for the web, an online video project and monitoring and managing internet 'noise', to management of a full scale online press office, website content generation, SEO and advertising campaigns".
