Ann Widdecombe, MP for Maidstone and the Weald, has joined the campaign - launched by Tamara Gillan, MD of agency SPF 15 - to establish a National Tell The Truth Day.

"Full marks to Tamara Gillan for coming up with this idea", sais Ann widdecombe "Anything that encourages greater honesty has to be applauded, whether in politics, advertising or any other everyday activity

"I do have a few qualms and can imagine some very awkward questions being quite deliberately posed that day, such as 'Do you still love me as much as on the day you married me?' One or two will, no doubt, come my way.

"I am, however, pleased to enter into the spirit of the campaign".

Ann Widdecombe's backing for National Tell The Truth Day was welcomed by Tamara Gillan, the campaign's founder.

She said: "Ann Widdecombe has an enviable reputation as somebody who can be trusted to say what they really think, so I am delighted that she is lending her support".
