Campaign boosts spring tourism to SW
England
The South West of England Regional Development Agency and South West Tourism is launching a national press and outdoor advertising campaign to encourage visitors to the region this spring.
The campaign, which will run for at least eight weeks, has been planned and created by integrated marketing communications agency space The creative, which runs with the strapline 'Discover your perfect spring break', is targeted primarily at those with high disposable incomes, which includes young couples, as well as those 'empty nesters' whose children have left home
Based on the 'South West Stories' theme that has been the focus of the successful tourism and business campaign to date, quotes will be used from real people to communicate their genuine experiences in the region.
The main message the campaign conveys is the wide variety of experiences the region offers outside of the summer season - whatever your passion - from mountain biking to surfing to luxury weekends at top class hotels, amongst many others.
The press advertising campaign will take place across the leading quality national press, including The Independent, The Guardian, and the Sunday Times, to name a few.
The outdoor advertising will run as four-sheet posters at railway stations throughout the UK, as well as on the London Underground.
Advertising will also take place via Tube Cards on the London Underground.
The media has been brought by media agency the7stars.
Tim Stubbings, Marketing Manager at the South West RDA, said: "Space, as always, continues to lead the way with exciting creative and a well-planned campaign execution.
"For over two years theagency has played a key role in helping us to boost visitor footfall in the region.
"We are very happy at the way they have innovated and evolved our 'South West Stories' theme to communicate that we have much to offer from luxurious and relaxing hotel breaks to bracing activity holidays to suit every taste, at any time of year".
David Atkinson, Managing Partner at space, commented: "Once again we are pleased to be working with the highly enthusiastic and innovative team at the South West RDA to help drive visitors to the region.
"We are confident that the very creative advertising campaign, via the planned press and outdoor activity, will grab the interest among those looking for a spring break in a region that has all they need to inspire and exhilarate or simply re-charge".
