Space signs up to develop England brand

VisitBritain's England International Marketing team has appointed integrated agency space to handle the development and rollout of England's international brand identity.

Space will initially develop the new England brand identity to be communicated across three key international markets - France, The Netherlands and Germany In October, a number of creative routes that the agency has developed will be extensively researched amongst focus groups in each of the three markets

This will be followed by further brand development work by space in November, prior to the formal launch of the new England international brand identity at the end of 2007.

Laurence Bresh, General Manager for Enjoy England, said: "We were hoping to find an agency that married insightful strategy with a truly inspiring creative solution - space has given us a number of extremely bold creative solutions that received unanimous support from within the business, and that we all believe have the power to establish England as the European destination to visit for travellers in our three primary markets".

Space is the integrated communications agency responsible for, amongst other leading campaigns, The Eurostar Quest - the campaign that exploited Eurostar's global partnership with the Da Vinci Code film in May 2006 and that's secured the agency a number of prestigious industry awards throughout 2007, including: 2007 ISP Grand Prix; Campaign of the Year @ 2007 Impact Awards; MCCA Best Award (Best Communications Campaign featuring Sponsorship); four 2007 ISP Gold Awards.

In addition, the agency has recently been nominated in an unprecedented five categories at this year's MAA Globe Awards in Las Vegas (more than any other agency), and is the only UK agency to be nominated for the overall MAA Globe Grand Prix - the prestigious award that celebrates the world's very best integrated campaign.

Space was runner up for Integrated Agency of the Year at the 2007 Impact Awards and nominated for Agency of the Year at the 2007 MCCA Awards.
