Smallfry creates foundation compact
Product design and innovation consultancy Smallfry has developed a new concept cheekily called Particularly Late, which it showed at the Total Processing and Packaging Show.
Particularly Late is a ladies' foundation compact that packages a base foundation together with a tonal variant The result is a tonal range that the consumer controls herself to suit her skin tone as it changes - ultimate flexibility through an intelligent last-minute mixing and dispensing mechanism
The same principle could be applied in other markets too (food, sunscreen, and medical, for example).
We were inspired by a manufacturing approach known as late particularisation (hence the tongue-in-cheek name Particularly Late - sorry girls).
Consumer insight work we do revealed issues with traditional foundation products relating to variances in skin tone, especially between summer and winter months, and sun exposure.
Normally this involves the purchase of a number of foundation creams: with Particularly Late it's all in one product".
With more than 100 enquiries at the Total Processing and Packaging Show, Smallfry again created a big impression.
