Signs and graphics manufacturer Signs Express has been walking on the wild side after being commissioned by Woburn Safari Park to provide signage for its new children's adventure play Ark.

Woburn approached Sign Express of Bedford to design and install signage for the Mammoth Play Ark, a new children's indoor adventure play area The wooden structure has been built to represent an ark and provides plenty of entertainment for wet days

Signs Express (Bedford), owned by Chris Hardy, is also celebrating its first anniversary.

"The centre has been going from strength to strength and being asked to do this project for Woburn Safari Park has been the icing on the birthday cake," said Hardy.

"We couldn't have asked for a better response from the local businesses".

The signage made for the ark comprised indoor health and safety signs, external entrance boards and directional signs; all printed in bold colours with child-friendly instructions and information.

Also added to the outside, in keeping with the ark design, were port-hole stickers.

These vinyl stickers were printed using photographic images of animal faces and placed over the ark windows giving the look of the animals' faces peering through the port holes - a fun element for the children using the ark.

Hardy and his team also provided the external board and post signage for Woburn's 'Special Experiences'.

The safari park offers its visitors the chance to enhance their visit to the park through various VIP tickets.

Visitors have the choice of adopting an animal, upgrading their day pass to an annual ticket or even becoming a ranger for the day - shadowing park staff, learning more about the animals and getting the chance to get up close and personal at feeding times.

The boards were constructed using natural-looking wooden poles in keeping with the parks' other signage and wooden enclosures, with display panels featuring all the activities for visitors to the park.

Signs Express provided other associated signage around the park including vehicle graphics for the park's company van.

Situated on Woburn Road Industrial Estate, Kempston, Signs Express (Bedford), provides a complete design, manufacture and fitting service for all forms of signage including interior and exterior signs, vehicle graphics, window graphics, banners and exhibition products.

Signs Express is the UK and Ireland's largest sign company with over 80 centres nationwide.

Signs Express is a member of the British Sign and Graphics Association, the British Franchise Association and the International Sign Association.
