Sign-Up.to CEO named top 10 entrepreneur
Sign-Up.to CEO Matt McNeill is named one of the top 10 business entrepreneurs to watch in the 2007 Courvoisier The Future 500.
Revealed in the Observer, Courvoisier The Future 500 represents the very best of UK business talent covering 10 different categories and is a celebration of the collective passion and determination which is breeding business growth across the country.
"I'm delighted to have been named in The Courvoisier The Future 500, it's a real honour to be included within such a talented group of entrepreneurs", said McNeill.
He established his first internet company at 17, designing websites for clients including Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules and Serious Records and went on to build a successful web design and marketing business all before the age of 21.
After identifying the need for a tool that would allow small businesses to make the most of the opportunities that email and mobile marketing offered, McNeill set about developing his first web application and launched the revolutionary Sign-Up.to in 2003.
Four years on and still only 26, McNeill has successfully positioned Sign-Up.to as the UK's leading self-service tool for permission-based marketing, growing over 100 per cent each year and operating from offices in London and Surrey.
Being a restless entrepreneur with a passion for using the power of the internet to help small businesses, McNeill has now turned his attention to improving the ticketing industry with the launch of his latest project eTickets.to.
The list of 500 individuals, representing ten business categories, was developed in partnership with trade publications and judges.
The process of creating the list started in May with nominations, self applications, grading and then judging taking place between specialist Courvoisier judges and partners.
The business category judges were looking for the ability to read the future and create business opportunities to capitalise on trends.
"The quality of the entrepreneurs in the business category was amazing; people's passion for business was really evident", commented Jamie Murray Wells, founder of Glassesdirect.co.uk and business category judge.
Jeanette Edwards, Marketing Controller Beam Global UK, added: "Courvoisier The Future 500 is an amazing showcase of business talent, there are so many driven people making a success of themselves in the UK".
