International publisher relaunches
websites
Norwich publisher Schofield Publishing has launched its revamped corporate website, plus 11 portals that will highlight individual titles and Schofield divisions.
As part of a global strategy to improve and develop its e-media offerings, Norwich publisher Schofield Publishing, part of the London-based Schofield Media Group, has relaunched its corporate website, along with 11 portals "We see e-media as a critical part of our future product offering," explained Schofield Media Group company chairman Andrew Schofield
"This is just the beginning of our investment in this area as we intend to create sites for all our titles and develop other web-related products.
"We take a long-term view of the opportunities that the internet represents and intend to keep e-media at the top of the agenda.
"Our websites were too basic and definitely needed attention," Mike Tulloch, MD of Schofield Media Europe commented.
The magazine portals now have much more functionality, including a searchable archive of the profiles featured in our magazines, and online advertising opportunities for clients.
In the UK, Railway Strategies, Venture and Food Chain magazine's websites have all been modernised and improved, alongside the Schofield Publishing, Schofield Healthcare Media and Schofield Media Group corporate sites.
Development is already under way on the European Oil and Gas site, and other titles will follow.
The group website now explains the history and background of the development of Schofield Media Group in a much more user-friendly format, and the individual US and UK sites give a much clearer idea of how each business unit operates and the titles it publishes.
Links from these sites easily take visitors to portals for Schofield's wide range of magazines, which cover topics as varied as railways, healthcare, oil and gas and food and drink.
Topics are sub-divided into their own channels, which means visitors can quickly find what they're looking for without having to search through back issues.
The Schofield Publishing portals were all developed with local website developer Ollie Blackmore and his company Selesti.
"We always try to work with young local businesses if possible; as an entrepreneur myself, I am keen to help other companies grow and succeed," said Schofield.
Selesti is a multi award-winning creative digital agency based in Norwich UK.
An online specialist, the company offers creative web design and development, SEO, e-commerce, content management, e-marketing, hosting, domains, motion graphics and accessibility.
Ollie Blackmore, founder and MD of the company, explained that Selesti had created a scalable and robust online publishing system for Schofield in the UK.
This will allow them to utilise the web for marketing and content delivery, he said.
The system was designed to be easily scalable and very user-friendly and we are already seeing a good response from visitors.
In the UK, in addition to the Norwich-based titles, the development strategy is also being rolled out across Schofield Media's healthcare titles.
These magazines are published by the recently acquired SB Communications - the UK's leading publisher and events organiser for healthcare professionals working in diabetes and related conditions.
As part of Schofield Healthcare Media these new sites reflect the growing nature of the business, with the web development including the creation of a sophisticated diabetes-related portal for the multidisciplinary teams involved with treating diabetes and related conditions.
This significant investment is the latest in a series of developments from the Schofield Media Group, after eight years of rapid growth and expansion, both here in the UK and in the States.
"Continued growth, both organic and through acquisition, is our top priority and this investment in web technology will be a critical enabler of our future success," Schofield concluded.
Schofield Media Group publishes 26 business-to-business magazines and operates conferences and events in the US and UK.
The company is headquartered in London and has regional offices in Chicago, New York, Boston and Norwich.
Divisions include Schofield Publishing UK, Schofield Media Chicago, RedCoat Publishing, Ideal Media and Schofield Healthcare Media.
