Neville Brody's Research Studios has created iconic packaging for the DVD version of Electroma, the new DaftPunk movie, which will be in UK stores the end of the month.

The film, shot on 35mm Eastman Kodak stock, was made mostly on location and revolves around the quest of two androids to become human The hour-long film features the androids driving across California in a Black Ferrari coupe complete with a license plate that reads "Human"

The band members do not actually appear in the film as actors play the robots.

Neither does the film feature material by Daft Punk.

Instead it includes works by Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Sebastien Tellier, Curtis Mayfield, Linda Perhacs, Jackson C Frank and Mathieu Tonetti.

Daft Punk's previous directorial credits include the music videos for Their singles "Fresh", "Robot Rock" and "Technologic".

Lionel Massias of Research Studios commented: "We were commissioned by the DVD distributor to design the collectors' DVD box including a poster and stickers - the metallic box we designed has rounded corners evoking the iconic helmets which play a key role in the movie.

"This has been a fantastic project to build on as the imagery that we had to work with was so strong".
