Research Studios creates iconic DaftPunk DVD box
Neville Brody's Research Studios has created iconic packaging for the DVD version of Electroma, the new DaftPunk movie, which will be in UK stores the end of the month.
The store's unique look strongly reflects this with its pure, modern and technical lines, inspired by the brand's first textile collection.
The use of materials, such as bleached oak, white lacquer and waxed cement floors, convey a surprising modernity reinventing the image of outdoor sportswear stores.
The store interior is organised around three sections punctuated by strong typographic signage and simply labelled 1-Kids for children's shoes, 2-Outventure for outdoor shoes and apparel, 3-Fusion for urban shoes.
Each section features large-scale photographic details of Merrell products and the use of large coloured walls.
The division of the retail space gives the feel of separate boutiques and yet all are strongly connected through their interiors, colours and graphics.
Altogether the store creates a fitting showcase for the brand's new collection.
Research Studios has an increasing profile in store design having already created The famous Citadium store (PPR group) and the visual identity for Lilysportive, a sports concept store for women, opened recently near Paris.
Lionel Massias, Director of Research Studios Paris, commented: "This project creates an entirely new vocabulary for outdoor sportswear brands - with its clean lines and modern interior it revolutionises the image that people have of outdoor sportswear retail".
