First qualification in email marketing
launches
Responsys has partnered with The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) to offer the world's first qualification in email marketing: The IDM/Responsys Certificate in Email Marketing.
The email marketing industry in Europe is worth over GBP1.1 billion and for an average retailer the email channel gives an ROI of 100:1 However, a lack of qualified staff has lead to many online marketing departments being unable to fully exploit the revenue, retention and data value of the email channel
The IDM/Responsys Certificate in Email Marketing is a comprehensive six-month course, developed by the IDM, with classroom tuition, assignments, practical training and an examination by the IDM Board of Examiners.
It will be run in January and September each year at the IDM in London.
Marketers graduating from the course will gain a valuable qualification that demonstrates they can make a business case, manage resources, and maximise the performance of an email marketing program.
"After six months of planning, it's great to see this course come to fruition," said Neil Morris, deputy managing director at the Institute of Direct Marketing.
"Email marketing is a honed skill and there is a distinct need for more structured training for marketers in the UK.
"The industry has been crying out for an email marketing qualification".
"Email is a huge part of online marketing, but many companies struggle to find qualified staff," said John Nugent, VP and GM EMEA at Responsys.
"We approached the IDM with the idea of creating a world-class course that would become the industry standard.
"We are now accepting applications for January 2008 and hope that graduates of The IDM/Responsys Certificate in Email Marketing will prove to be a significant contribution to the email marketing industry," he added.
The first course will start on 29 January, 2008 at the Institute of Direct Marketing in Teddington.
