Relayvideo messaging keeps football fans informed

A Relay Station product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Oct 9, 2009

Relaystation has launched live voice-message broadcasting, a video-messaging product, and previewed a bolt-on portal for grass-root academies at the Leaders in Football event.

Using Relayvideo, club managers can record a 30-second video on a camcorder, then send the file to Relaystation together with a spreadsheet of opt-in fans' mobile numbers and instructions when to broadcast.

The type of video message that clubs can send to fans can include new signings, fixtures, club promotions and events, season-ticket pricing and new kit.

In non-professional football, Relaystation has recognised the need for managers - often parents and volunteers - to be provided with a tool kit that enables them to ensure they have up-to-date player and parent information and are able to communicate quickly and easily with them about a variety of subjects.

The company has worked with the Core Soccer Academy to better understand what is required to enable academies focus on training players rather than spending time on the phone reminding players where to be and when.

Relaystation's out-of-the-box portal is a central database containing all information about a grass-root team and allows managers to interact and communicate with team players.

The portal is bolted-on to an academy's website, customised with the look and feel of the club, and parents and team members are directed to it to collate information.

Relaystation then securely stores all the data on its servers and provides an easy-to-use data miner tool that parents can send messages from.
