Website replays radio job ads
Didn't catch the number in a radio ad? Now you can just play it again, thanks to a new website, JobsOnRadio.com, created by radio advertising specialist RadioWorks.
JobsOnRadio.com allows listeners who miss the response details in radio recruitment commercials to replay them online With radio entering the digital age its natural that radio advertising should follow suit
JobsOnRadio is the first website of its kind and hosts information on jobs advertised on the radio.
The site hosts an audio file of the original on-air commercial, as well as more details about the job including salary, location, response mechanism and an employer web address.
This gives a potential applicant all the information they would need on a vacancy and the employer.
The site can be searched by station, region or job category so even listeners who are unsure of the station they originally heard the commercial on are able to find the audio and replay it.
There are a number of benefits to using JobsOnRadio.
First, the site allows listeners to listen to the commercial again at their convenience and gives them all the details they need to apply.
Secondly, by using a simple response mechanism in the commercial, such as "visit JobsOnRadio.com for more information", advertisers save valuable seconds in their commercial as you don't need to repeat a lengthy phone number that could effectively take up a third of a 30-second commercial.
Consequently, you allow more time to outline the benefits of the job and the employer.
Also, a simple response mechanism is easier to remember and will increase response to a commercial.
JobsOnRadio not only provides a back-up facility for the radio commercial, it also offers the advertiser the chance to gain some additional exposure online.
Company profile pages and hyperlinks to their websites coupled with online advertising opportunities such as skyscrapers, banners and buttons on the site offer the client a chance to extend awareness and reach.
Chris Cherry, Recruitment Account Manager, RadioWorks, said: "The combination of radio and online for recruitment advertising is destined to grow as advertisers continue to look for more targeted and effective recruitment solutions.
"JobsOnRadio.com is the first website of its kind and we know that once advertisers see the site in action they will see the benefit in making their radio recruitment advertising accessible online".
A WAP-enabled version of the site is under construction and a text marketing service is also available.
The system will allow listeners to respond by texting a keyword to a five-digit shortcode and they will receive a bounce-back containing a WAP link to the site, which will allow people to listen to the ads on their mobile phones.
This is essential in today's time-poor society allowing people access to the information on the move, and is an integral part of RadioWorks' commitment to making radio a more efficient and measurable medium for recruitment advertisers.
