Report reveals benefits of geolocation technology

A Quova product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Dec 3, 2009

Quova has announced the findings of a Quocirca research report entitled 'Customers in the Real World', which examines the benefits of using geographical website targeting for online businesses.

Using a fictional organisation called Things-4-You, the report demonstrates the opportunities available to businesses once they understand where their web visitors are located.

The report uses the story of Things-4-You to demonstrate the potential marketing and sales benefits of IP geolocation for any online retailer, but particularly one that also has real-world retail outlets.

Examples are given on how personalising web visits can engage visitors and provide a link between online customers and real-world stores, and how location can also be used to detect online fraud during the transaction process.

In addition to the Quocirca report, Quova has also made available a range of free educational online tools and a library of resources about IP geolocation technology.
