P22 has announced the launch of the RTF Loxley font designed by Jim Rimmer and based on early Roman faces, such as the Subiaco type of the late 1400s.

Loxley was designed to be used in a fine press edition of 'Robin Hood' and was to be a follow up for Rimmer's edition of 'Ton Sawyer' for which he designed the Hannibal typeface.

Loxley displays some of Jim's particular left-handed calligraphy and is in a similar style to his 'Fellowship' and 'Alexander Quill' faces, both of which were made in metal and digital formats.

Loxley is a basic Opentype font with central European characters, a few f ligatures and alternate caps of the A, H, K, R, and T.
