Pro Carton supports record turnout
conference
Pro Carton, the Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers, supported the 2008 Carton Conference, attended by a record number from the industry as well as supermarket giant Tesco.
BPIF Cartons president John Monks said the event had underlined the industry's commitment to the environment "We can go on from here with renewed confidence", he said

Colourful packaging does its job
A new study has provided evidence that our brains react more significantly to colourful, multiple and nice-looking packaging.
"Out material has a favourable carbon footprint, and our product has proven consumer preference and selling power.
"The industry must use the opportunity to promote these advantages".
One of the main speakers, Sonia Raja, Tesco's senior packaging buyer, said: "I felt it important to support the carton industry by attending and speaking at the conference to elaborate on Tesco's commitment to reduce packaging and encourage recyclability, as carton board constitutes a significant part of our primary and shelf ready packaging".
Pro Carton members attending the conference were provided with up to date knowledge, enabling them to confidently promote and educate packaging material specifiers, retailers and brand owners on the benefits of cartonboard and cartons - that they are and have been for many years manufactured from a sustainable and renewable resource and as such are the most sustainable form of packaging available.
