EasyFairs announces exhibitor confirmation rise
EasyFairs has revealed that more than 300 companies have confirmed stands for its next Packaging Innovations event at Birmingham's NEC, on 11-12 February 2009.
The trade show specialist said this represents an 80 per cent increase compared to the same stage last year, and indicates that the economic slowdown does not appear to be impacting on packaging design shows.
Peter Heath, managing director at easyFairs UK, said: 'The credit crunch is resulting in a shift to low cost alternatives because consumers and businesses don't need, or perhaps can't afford, the frills.
'At times like this companies are focused on getting an even better return on their investment.
Heath added: 'Large trade fairs are demanding both in terms of time, resource and budget and there is a lot of casual footfall.
That may be great for making a brand statement but if we're heading, as many people predict, towards further economic uncertainty, is that really enough? 'Exhibitors want a tangible return on investment in addition to raising their profile.
The easyFairs UK Packaging Innovations expo will be co-located with the easyFairs EcoPack show, which is dedicated to sustainable, environmentally sensitive packaging concepts and solutions, the PackTech show, which highlights innovations in packaging machinery, printing systems and converting technology, and ContractPack, which is held in conjunction with the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association and showcases the full spectrum of services, including pack design, blister/clam packing, shrink-wrapping, labelling, point-of-sale displays, pick and pack, warehousing and distribution.
