Packaging is key to product innovation
Product innovation is high on major brand agendas for 2008 and much of that innovation will come through packaging, according to the easyFairs Packaging Report.
One of the UK's leading design and innovation agencies, Kinneir Dufort, has already demonstrated that environmentally responsible design is high on its agenda by signing up for the show.
KD Director Sean Devane said: "As a hot topic on the industry's agenda, sustainability lies at the core of successful packaging design, not only in choice and reduction of materials used but also in the visual cues presented to the consumer".
"EasyFairs Ecopack is the right event at the right time and there has been an incredibly positive response from the market," added Packaging Portfolio Director Simon Twilley.

Now in its fourth year, the show brings together everyone involved in pushing back the boundaries of packaging design, including manufacturers, design and brand agencies, and retailers and brand owners.
With six months still to go, the show is already 75 per cent booked.
While many leading design and brand agencies, including DCA Design and PDD, returning for a second and third year, the 2008 show will also see some major new names coming onboard, including Seymourpowell, MW Creative and Impackt.
There's a chance to hear some really impressive speakers at the 80 free learnShops sessions, including Richard Seymour, the founder of Seymourpowell, who will be giving the keynote address at the easyFairs Packaging Innovations learnShops.
Top industry experts in the easyFairs Ecopack sessions, meanwhile, will explore some of the major challenges facing the industry, from biodegradable and compostable polymers to on-pack messaging and the impact of packaging design on food waste.

Encouragingly, 50 per cent said they already had a budget for packaging-related environmental issues, while a further 18 per cent said they would be securing such funds in the near future.
