Pod1 looks East for website challenge
Links of London (www.linksoflondon.co.uk), the luxury jeweller, has appointed digital agency Pod1 to build new 'catalogue' websites as it enters Far Eastern markets.
At the end of April 2007, Pod1 will launch a Links of London Traditional Chinese language site, followed by a Simplified Chinese site and then a Japanese site The sites will carry much of Links' existing range

In October 2006 Pod1 launched Links of London's e-commerce site, showcasing its stunning collections of sterling silver and 18-carat gold jewellery for both men and women.
Pod1's brief encompassed the website redesign, development, global stock control, call-centre management, existing systems integration, e-commerce and digital marketing aspects of Links of London's business.
Pod1 was tasked with translating Links of London's brand identity into a cohesive online offering while complementing the offline print and store design.
Using high impact photography and ultra slick design, the site uses Flash to great effect in the Collections, Corporate and Craftsmanship sections to give the site believable depth while enhancing user interactivity.
Further developing the usability and interactivity element of the site, the critically lauded "Charm Maker" tool allows visitors to design their very own bracelet and then view the finished product online prior to purchase.
