The new regional director and committee of the PM Forum in the West Midlands have pledged to tackle the issues that keep the region's marketing and business development executives awake at night.

Hilary Campton, director at marketing consultancy V Formation, on taking up the role of Regional Director of the PM (Professional Marketing) Forum in the West Midlands, said: "The committee's aim is to make the PM Forum the voice for professional marketers across the West Midlands by genuinely leading the debate on hot topics and issues that touch everyone involved in marketing and business development in the professional services arena, from accountancy and architecture practices, marketing and business consultancies, to engineering, law and property firms "We recognise it is vital to create events that combine educational and training elements with high-level debate and thought leadership, to really make a difference and add value for our members"

Topics already on the agenda for the 2008 programme include The Green Agenda, Corporate Social Responsibility, Branding and Reputation, Client Relationship Management, Career Development, and Successful Online Marketing.

Working alongside Campto on the new-look PM Forum West Midlands Regional Committee are incumbent Regional Chairman Jon Preston, Marketing and Business Development Director of law firm Martineau Johnson, Katie Rice of full service business and marketing consultancy M Consulting, Simon McNidder of international law firm Pinsent Masons, Rebecca Wilks of accountants and business advisers PKF, and Diane Wood of DWPR.

The Professional Marketing Forum (PM Forum) is a 4,000-strong regionally based members organisation formed in 1996, which is dedicated to raising the standards of professional marketing and to enhancing the credibility of marketers working in professional services firms worldwide.

Professional services cover fields including accounting, architecture, consulting, engineering and law.

PM Forum enables marketing professionals to network with and learn from their peers across a wide range of professional services sectors, including: management consulting, law, accounting and property.

The PM Forum helps professional firms raise their abilities to market themselves and is focused on three goals: increasing the impact of marketing in professional services; advancing the skills and capabilities in the fast-evolving profession of professional services marketing; and furthering the career of individual professional services marketers.

It offers educational programs, networking opportunities and a chance to learn from other firms' experiences.

The PM Forum regularly holds events in major European and North American cities, and a programme of events at regional level across the UK.

Through their involvement, marketers at all levels, partners and fee-earners gain leading edge ideas, benchmark their efforts, and become more effective and stronger in what they do.
