Eco-friendly card launched by Plastic Card Shop

A Plastic Card Shop product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Mar 11, 2009

The Plastic Card Shop has launched the Ecocard - a range of eco-friendly cards that offers marketers a more environmentally friendly way to offer discounts and incentives.

Ecocard allows responsible businesses to use plastic and paper cards for marketing purposes while adhering to their company's green credentials.

The range includes cards made from four different eco-friendly materials: PETg (a recyclable plastic); recycled PVC; Ingeo PLA (a compostable plastic made from plants, not oil); and Bloomcard (made from recycled junk mail and incorporating wild flower seeds - planting the card at the end of its use results in a display of poppies, daisies and buttercups - a lasting memento of the brand or campaign).

The PETg, PVC and PLA ecocards have the look and feel of traditional plastic cards and all the usual features, such as a magnetic stripe or a barcode, can be incorporated.

The launch of Ecocard is supported by a website that features product information, advice, FAQs and explanations of the various recycling and composting logos.
